Birth story

My birth story! Gabriel’s birth story

8-5-19 went in for induction at 8am, didn’t officially get started till 9:30am! Got IV and fluids started then at 10:50am got the foley bulb placed to get me to 4cm as i was only 2cm 50% effaced! Ordered lunch then got up to walk at 12:30p got back to my room and felt the bulb pop out which meant i was 4cm. Started bouncing on ball and got bulb removed around 2-2:30pm then midwife broke my water. At 3pm after walking some more i pumped for an hour and got mild contractions started every 3-5 mins. Used the peanut ball, birth ball, did squats, walked the halls like crazy and tried to relax. At 6:30p-7pm ate dinner and 8pm started pitocin. Was doing great managing pain by walking changing positions every 30mins to an hour. By 11p-12a i was in the birthing tube laboring in there. Got checked at 12:30-1am i was 8cm but baby was still high which pissed me off cause i was up a lot i didn’t understand why baby didnt drop he was already super low. Well i stalled at 8cm for a while was falling asleep between contractions which were coming every 1-3 mins at that point, contractions were extremely intense pitocin was set to 12 at that point the highest my OB goes is 16 (which i had with my last birth) around 3:35-3:40 i felt baby finally descend i never felt the urge to push this time like I did with my other two, not sure if that cause i was in the water but. I started pushing and pushing hard! He was coming out lol i pushed twice he was crowning pushed 2 more time his shoulders were out and the midwife was telling me to grab ur baby he is coming out, so i reach down and pulled him the rest of the way out with my last push! He was HERE! They got me up and out of the pool quickly as they thought i was hemorrhaging, i wasn’t thankfully! No tears just a scratch. The unfortunate part was after delivering the placenta i started getting bad clots which the midwife had to reach back up inside not only by my cervix but inside my uterus to sweep the clots out a total of 3 times all awhile I’m feeding my new baby, and had no pain meds so i felt everything. Let me tell you id rather have pushed him out again than have that done!
