Naturally inducing labour-does it work?

Is it ok to start naturally inducing labour from 36/37 weeks?

I’m starting at 37 weeks, walking, raspberry leaf tea, bouncing on a yoga ball, and nipple stimulation. I want to avoid induction.

I have been because I'm trying to avoid a CS that my Dr is somewhat pushing on me. My first baby was large and got stuck, so they're worried that this one will be too as he is measuring in the 97 percentile and I have been having growth ultrasounds every week. If you don't have anything going on (like baby is large, due date might be wrong) I wouldn't do anything.

I wouldn't start that early. My hospital won't start induction until 39 weeks or even a c section when medically needed (previa) until 39 weeks. 39 weeks is now considered term, NOT 37 weeks. 😉 I tried every induction possible with my second to avoid pitocin and even had my membranes stripped multiple times and nothing worked.

Due to being high risk and them wanting to induce or possibly do a c-section at 37-39 weeks I’ve started walking a lot, squatting, and even climbed a couple tall hills to help move things along so induction and whatnot won’t take as long. I get some BH and actual contractions from it, not dilating but dr says it’s definitely helping to continue moving her farther in my pelvis. Baby girl has dropped immensely in the last week since starting!

My doctor said he needs to be in until at least 37 weeks and even then she’d prefer he stay in until I’m at least 38 weeks or 39 weeks when I’ll be induced.

Unfortunately unless your body has already started processing, none of the natural techniques we will do anything other than exhaust you.
