Hi Ladies! I am new to nexplanon and birth control all together, this is my first time ever getting it. I got my implant on July 22 and things have been very strange to say the least. The entire month of August I was pretty much on my period and it started on the 8th of that month. It stopped on the 28th, and I was off of it for a week and started again yesterday.

I waited 2 weeks after I got it to have unprotected sex with my boyfriend, and we only see each other once a week so we go quite a few rounds. We use condoms sometimes, but most of the time we go unprotected. I have no clue if that affects me getting my period or not. I scheduled an appointment with my doctor with the concerns I have about the implant.

I’ve read irregular bleeding is common for the first 6 months, is that true? How long until it regulates? I’m tired of bleeding for two weeks straight. Has anyone else had long periods of bleeding? What can I do to regulate it?
