We’re currently 3 years long distance, across countries. No, long distance is definitely not as great as proximity— BUT. It is all a mindset. 
If you fully trust your partner and are actively involved in each other’s lives, pursuing the same goal, distance is just a perspective. If you believe and tell yourself it’s not bad— it’s honestly not *bad*. It’s just a mind set. 
Yea, we’d rather be together, but to quote my man Winnie the Pooh, “As long as we are apart together, we shall surely be fine.”

Long distance is DEF hard, but SO worth it. Me and my ( now ) husband are one month in today and it was 100% worth every hard day.

Long distance is SO hard. My husband and I were long distance through our entire engagement.
We made sure to set aside time every day to FaceTime (even if it was only for 5 minutes). It really helped to see and hear him.
I think in the year we were long distance, we missed one day of FaceTiming, and it was because I was camping and had no service. Lol 
Other than that, we tried our best to see each other at least once a month. It was expensive flying across the country, but we were able to afford it. 
There are good days and bad. In the end, it’s worth it though! Like I said to my hubby when thinks got tough... “sucks, but worth it”
