Stay at home mom vs working mom

Me and my Husband are weighing the pros and cons, we have a very affordable house payment (but a not so affordable car payment when you factor in full coverage insurance as well) I would love to be home for my baby and let her know that I am there for her all the time and probably return to work when she starts attending school. Shes not due until December but I have a really hard time looking at daycare options when I dont want a stranger watching my baby (but I trust a licensed daycare more than some family)

Any advice? How did you make your decisions? Any tips to make things more affordable of we choose the SAHM route?
