Pumping in the bathroom

So today at work, I bumped into one of my coworkers on the way to the bathroom. She was carrying a bag so I assumed she was leaving early, until I realized that the bag was a breast pump carrier. Later in the evening I pulled my coworker aside and I asked her if she was told by management that she had to pump in the bathroom. She replied that she pumps in the bathroom because there is no where else to do it in our work place. We live and work in a state that has to provide a private area for pumping that's not a bathroom, so I told her she needs to talk to the managers about getting a private place. Myself and another coworker are pregnant and planning on breastfeeding and so we will be encountering this same issue soon. Anyway if a work place can't supply an area for pumping, should breastfeeding mothers be forced to pump in bathrooms? I know in another breastfeeding topic, I brought up the dilemma with my job and said that I might have to formula feed when I return to work because of this situation.

Sorry if I'm all over the place, I'm tired but I can't sleep.
