Already producing milk?

Question

Quite a bit of it too, but since I'm not allowed to pump I'm just trying to deal. 30 weeks and 6 days.

Any other mommas all ready to go?

You're not actually producing breast milk yet. Your breast milk won't come in until after baby is already born, it typically takes between 3-5days (sometimes up to a week). What your breasts are leaking right now is a substance called colostrum- also known as "liquid gold". This is what will feed baby the first few days of it's life. Some get it earlier than others, while some won't get it till their last  few weeks of pregnancy. Producing colostrum- at any stage in pregnancy- does not indicate whether or not you will have an easier time of breastfeeding, or even a great supply. The only way to build a good supply after baby is born is to constantly have baby latch on, to help stimulate the breasts, lactation cookies/teas, pumping and ect. If you leak a lot during warm showers or certain times of the day collect that stuff and freeze it!!! Its called "liquid gold" for a reason! And if something happens and you aren't able to breastfeed right away it will benefit baby so so much to have some frozen and able to bottle fees to him/her.

Yes. I'm producing colostrum quite a bit. Soaking breast pads and if I'm not wearing any when I sleep,i wake up to,huge patches of wet on my shirt and in my bed....a,little annoyin!!! I've been lactating since 19 weeks but week 30 seemed to kick things up a notch. I'm 32+5 now
