Is it weird to post a list instead of a registry for a baby shower?

It’s a Facebook event with no mail invites sent out so I’d just post the list to the event

Then how would everyone know if someone already bought something from the list? Just post a link to your registry.

Registries are helpful because you can pick the brand/color/theme of the items you’re looking for. It also keeps track of what people buy so you don’t get 5 baby bath tubs and no towels. You could always post a link to a registry, and post a list of items you feel are more of a priority. Or tell people that list if they ask you what you still need.

The registry is nice because it lets guests know what other guests have already bought you and what still needs bought. I’d make the registry and not a list unless the list is like just “clothes and diapers”.

It’s super easy and free to make a babylist registry. You can add all the stuff on your list and just tell the guests that you’re registered on there

You’ll get a lot of duplicates if you don’t make a registry.
You can make registries and post the links in the Facebook event.
That’s what I did for our wedding and probably what I’ll do for our baby shower.
