26 weeks car accident😞
Today was a joyous day ladies. I bought a brand new, beautiful SUV with third row seating for our growing family. 6:05 I left the dealer lot feeling so happy. 6:32 my son and I were rear ended by some moronic girl not paying any attention to the dead stopped traffic from a previous 5 car pile up. No braking. Not even an attempt. Luckily the right lane was clear and I was able to stop the chain reaction by trying to pull out and hitting the guide rail instead of the cars in front of me. The airbag deployed in my car leaving me bruised and burnt, on my arms and legs and my belly is bruised top and bottom from the seatbelt. My son is perfect thank god. I am so infuriated right now at the gross negligence in this situation. If I was a betting woman, she had her nose buried in her phone.
Most importantly though BABY IS OK💕 He’s active as ever and his heart is just beating away.
I don’t know what to do here. Do I actually pursue pressing charges? Has anyone been in this situation and done so? She could have severely injured my oldest and possibly caused the loss of my youngest. I’m grateful we’re all ok and home safe, but how many times are these negligent drivers going to get a slap on the wrist and sent back on the road?!🤬😞
UPDATE: Last night was a fought nights sleep. The bruising is excruciating even for a sheet to touch. I woke up this morning with very minimal back/neck pain so I’m beyond thankful for that given I’m pregnant and can’t take anything that would relieve it. My fiancée ran and got me a giant heating pad and some chocolate covered pretzels last night just in case my back got bad. What a guy💕 I’m waiting for the trooper to call me back with some insurance info for this dumb broad because I refuse, again REFUSE, to pay a dime of my deductible. Insurance said “well we can file it on yours and get the ball rolling.” Nope, I’m a patient woman, I’ll gladly wait for her info so I don’t have to wait for reimbursement.
