Ok to give peanut butter to a 9 month old?

Our pediatrician had us introduce at 8 months. Their finding the later you wait to introduce that the more severe the reaction could be, if there were to be one.

Our family doctor recommend we give it to our children by 8 months. Recent studies have shown children with early exposure are far less likely to have an allergic reaction that those exposed after 12 months.

I think the recommended age to give peanut product is over 2 years. However if there is no family history in both sides of peanut allergies I think its a personal preference. I think I waited 12 months for my kids.

Here in Boston they recommend trying foods like that sooner than later! I remember being so freaked out giving my daughter eggs and peanut butter-the two huge allergy foods..but ended up being fine. I want to say it was right around 9/10 months  I did!

It can be considered a choking hazard so maybe in a really small amount

I did but little amounts. I didn't start doing to peanut butter cookies and pb&j till he was over a year old

I gave my daughter peanut butter around 9 months she loves peanut butter now that she's 1 years old, she likes her peanut butter and honey sandwiches. Every parent is different if you think it's right you do it mom knows best ☺️
