How much is your 4 months baby sleeping at night???

Hello ladies,
My baby is still waking up once or twice in the middle of the night to eat (around midnight and 3 or 4am- he goes to bed around 8pm). My pediatrician told me that he doesn’t need the 4am feeding anymore and that I’m just creating a habit by feeding him. I tried not feeding him last night and just rubbing his back and giving him the pacifier BUT nobody slept at my house. He kept fussing and only settled down after I fed him 2.5 hours later. My question is, how many hours are your babies sleeping?? Honestly, to me is just easier to put him on the breast for 10 minutes and then everybody goes back to sleep but I’m afraid that he will never stop waking up in the middle of the night and I will have to fed him at 4am forever and ever! Lol. How are you handling your baby sleep?

Mine sleeps 9pm-7am.
I think it’s strange doctors tell us that at certain times babies cannot be hungry and it’s just a habit. My doctor doesn’t tell me I’m not hungry at 4am and I know damn well sometimes at 4am I’m hungry.
In my experience with both my babies if they weren’t actually hungry when they woke up in the middle of the night then soothing them back to sleep worked real quick, like in 5-10 minutes. If they couldn’t be soothed and the bottle worked then they were hungry.

Very strange advice from a doctor! If you feel more at peace just feeding her, do that. I promise that every baby eventually sleeps through! My baby is an opposite baby it seems, slept through the night every night from 6weeks-14weeks (9pm-7am). Now, she’s up 1-3 times a night (I think it’s the regression coming early). You’re not creating bad habits or spoiling your baby, you’re just meeting their unique individual needs and that makes you a GREAT mama!

Have you tried a dream feed? Maybe around 10 or so, then you can skip the midnight feeding maybe and just feed at 4 am. Just a guess! No idea if that will work. Our little guy used to sleep from 9-4am every night but we’re in the thick of this 4 month regression and ugh. Now we’re up every 3 hours some nights.

Mine little one sleeps around 7 or 8pm to about 6 or 7am. She doesn't ever really fully wake up but she eats twice a night on average at different times every night.

It is NORMAL for most babies to be waking once a night to nurse up until 9 or 10 months. Babies might be capable of sleeping without nursing before then and it might not hurt their growth or development to skip that feed, but neither will it hurt them to nurse them! If it’s easier for you, then do it! It’s not like your pediatrician is being bothered by your baby waking up once during the night 🙄 You’ll know when it’s time to stop. My oldest baby woke to eat once a night up until about 9 months when I noticed that she was no longer nursing to eat/just comfort suckling. After that, I stopped feeding her at night and it was fine. By ten months she was sleeping 12 hours with no interruptions and she’s been a great sleeper ever since!

My daughter is all over the place. She goes to sleep between 9-10, despite us trying everything to get her to bed earlier. Some nights she wakes up at 1 and then 4 and then 6 (or some variation close by that) and other nights she sleeps straight through until 5 or 6. I see no pattern with when she sleeps well versus when she doesn’t.

Mine goes down 8 pm wakes around 1am for feeding them 4 am feeding then up by 7 am for day 🙈! Can’t wait till he sleeps thru the night this mama is tired!!

My twins were going from 9:00 with a "top off dream feed" at 10:30 until 6 or 7:00 for a couple weeks but for the last week they have been waking to eat at 4. I never thought about NOT feeding them. I just assumed it was the 4 month sleep regression.

Once or twice? Hahahaha. My minimum is 4, but she does sleep a total of 11-12 hours and goes to sleep immediatly after nursing or patting a bit. Why is it we put so much pressure on our babies to stop nursing or needing a cuddle at night when they have barely been alive for a couple of weeks??

I think if trying to soothe them doesn’t work relatively quickly they are hungry if they have Been changed as well. I know sometimes my son just wants his paci, sometimes he wants changed and other times he’s definitely hungry .
