Crazy!

One of my coworkers recently became a grandmother to a beautiful baby boy.

She traveled to see them so when she returned I asked her how the baby was doing.

She was showing me all the beautiful pictures and telling me how the labor went. (Can you ladies believe she was 42w!!) they had broke her water and time went by and labor didn’t progress so she had an emergency c section the baby’s heart had dropped.

Fast forward she said everyone was good but the baby was born without a rectum/rectal opening. And he will have to have surgery In the future when he is a few weeks/months older. Has anyone ever experience this? Know of anyone? I just was in shock and didn’t know if it would be rude to ask questions. Most importantly the baby is healthy and mama finally can enjoy her bundle of joy.
