Help!

So my husband and I are trying to get pregnant with our first! We cannot wait to start our family! But I seriously have no idea what I'm doing! I have read a few articles about how to get pregnant sooner but they mostly suggest that we have sex more often is there anything else that we could do? I understand that it can take a few cycles after you stop taking birth control but we would really like to be pregnant by the end of the year. Suggestions? Insights?
