I don't like having guests

When I moved out I was excited and I wanted a baby shower which didn't happen. Then there were complications with my daughters health so we didn't have any visitors after she was born. I was kinda off the radar for a while and would take my daughter out and about to meet people. Some friends said to let them know when I wanted guests and it just didn't ever happen. I just like coming home and having my space. I hate the pressure of having to make sure my house is spotless (I'm anal like that). My friends are hinting they want to come over and my first thought it to somehow get out of it. Is this normal?
