Concern about brown discharge

I have a concern.. if any of you ladies been through similar what was your outcome? . For the past 5 days now I have been having dark brown discharge . At first I thought maybe my period . But I’m not due for my period for about 2 weeks . Over the past year I had two surgeries due to a cyst that grew very quickly to be the size of a softball and at that follow up they found another large cyst where they had to do emergency surgery to remove that along with my right ovary. A few months back at my follow up they found a small cyst on my left ovary which wasn’t large enough to be concerned about . I have never had this discharge before . Started off very light ( when I wiped ) thought maybe just my period coming sooner so I put a tampon in, a few hours later removed it and only brown type of discharge on it . As days passed there has been more dark brown discharge on my panty liner. Is this common to have this 2 weeks before a period ? I’ve never had it before or after any period or during either of my pregnancies . I have had unprotected sex since my last period . I’m currently taking the birth control pill . But I know it’s not 100 % . Not sure what this can be . Any advice ?
