Anyone opted for IUI to avoid timed sex pressure?

Question

I have PCOS and have been TTC for over a year. I'm on my first round of Femara, 5dpo and I have a got feeling that it's not going to work. Both my SO and I have very demanding high stress jobs and timed intercourse this month was just stressful with all the OPKs and trying to make sure we both have time to do it as we usually BD only on weekends. So has anyone ever opted for IUI to avoid the stress of timing the sex? I feel like I don't enjoy it as much when I have to constantly stress about it. My doctor mentioned IUI but I did not ask further questions thinking BD will not be an issue as SO and I enjoy it but it's just not worth the trouble. So if this cycle I'm not pregnant I want to do an IUI even though it's not really a necessity and we can keep timing sex. Is it selfish or wrong to just want to go in, have the procedure and then wait and see if it works instead of constantly peeing on OPKs, trying to match schedules, etc?

Even with an IUI it's timed. You have to have your sample 30-90 minutes before your IUI procedure. So they guy has to perform under pressure to provide his sample with out any "help"  from you as it could hurt his sample.  It's very stressful and I'm the wife of a hubby who had to do this. IUI is no joke, very stressful and only increases your odds of concieving by 6-8%

If your spouse doesn't have sperm issues then save your money. You'll need it once baby is otw.

We've done two cycles of timed intercourse and are on our second cycle of iui. The iui cycles even though you have to time intercourse beforehand are sooooo much less stressful for us. My husband hasn't had nearly as much performance problems with the iui cycles as the timed intercourse cycles. We feel we can actually enjoy sex again!

Just to add my two cents...this is our first cycle doing IUI, but our IUI still wants us to BD every other day days 10-20 like normal with the exception of the day of the IUI (this morning for us!). So for us, it really only cut down on 1 day of BD. I guess it depends on your doctor. I definitely understand what you mean though...

Go for it. It only increases your chances. Anything you can do to make it less stressful, I say do it.

I am feeling the exact same way right now!!! Ultrasound indicated a potential follicle and so we are supposed to be doing timed inter course, but it is so stressful and unromantic. My husband just can't take the pressure. Good luck!
