Hosting Thanksgiving?
Hi ladies! I'm due November 18. My SO wants to host Thanksgiving at our home this year since we'd likely be unable to travel anywhere with a newborn. He promised I wouldn't have to do anything - we'd make it potluck style and everyone would help clean up, etc.
There would be roughly about 20 people or so, 3 of whom are children ages 5 and under.
And it would be all his family, as mine isn't local.
My concerns are:
Is one week too young for the baby to be exposed to all these people?
Am I going to be a wreck physically/mentally/emotionally to be around people?
What if I pass my due date and the baby is even younger than one week or I still haven't delivered yet? (And possibly go into labor during dinner?!)
Has anyone attempted to host any kind of holiday function immediately after giving birth? What do you guys think? When my SO proposed the idea several months ago it sounded ok, but now as the date approaches I'm having second thoughts...any input would be appreciated!
