Probably should know what this means as I am 5 days away from my due date (post anonymously) 😂
What does it mean if someone says I’m 3cm dilated & 65% effaced? Confused.com

Effaced is the same as how thinned our your cervix is. It starts thick and as you progress it thins out...kind of like what happens when you suck on a lifesaver. The lifesaver gets thinner and the hole in the middle gets bigger (dilation).

Normally your cervix is hard (effaced) and closed (dilated)
Your cervix needs to soften to make it easier to open! Once you are fully effaced it means your cervix is squishy like dough as opposed to hard like plastic.
