Good food for an upset stomach?

Question

My two years old have caught some kind of stomach bug that has given him loose smelly stools and I'm wondering what are some good food for him right now? I know bananas are good, but other than that I'm not sure.

Brat diet; bananas, rice, applesauce and toast is what my mom always gave me when I was sick. Chicken noodle soup and Gatorade is nice too.

Oatmeal. I live off of oatmeal when I'm really sick. And chicken broth. Just the broth.

The advice when we were kids was the BRAT diet, but recent studies show regular food helps get over it quicker.  That being said, take your child’s lead.
So, like the other posters are saying, offer fluids.  Dairy and juice can sometimes aggravate upset tummies, so if that seems to be the case, consider skipping the dairy and/or juice.  
A lot of times when kids feel yucky, they don’t want to eat or eat way less than usual.  Keep offering food.  If they don’t want it, you don’t have to force them to eat.
When it’s my kids, I start with the BRAT diet.  If that stays put, we try branching out.  A lot of times my kids will say “Mom, I want a pb&j”...and I’m like um...you were sick 20 minutes ago...not sure you are ready, but it has been our experience if the are saying they are hungry for something, a lot of times they do just fine eating that something.  We always tell them to go slow at first.
