Cold sores and breastfeeding?

I'm developing a cold sore on my top lip. I get them like twice a year, but I just had my baby a week ago and we're EBF. I just noticed it in the mirror when I was leaving the restroom. I'm terrified! Please tell me it's safe to breastfeed as long as it's not on my breast! 😭😭😭

I've had 2 since having my 5 month old. No problems. Just dont kiss!

I got a cold sore from the stress of birth. The doctor prescribed me pills while I was in the hospital. I would just call and ask your doctor for them. I breastfed my daughter and everything was fine.

I don't know about breast feeding but probably not a good idea to kiss your baby on the lips. Cos the virus can be passed on and your child will end up getting cold sores every so often too.
