Random discharge?

I'm still learning a lot about my body and sexual health. How normal is it to have a lot of vaginal discharge? I'll be at work or just hanging out and I can't tell if I'm sweating, if I'm having an irregular period, or if my subconscious is just randomly turned on. It's very annoying and I just wondered if anyone else has this problem or if it's perfectly normal and just part of having a vagina.
