Babies on special formula

For those babies on special formula for milk allergies (like Similac Alimentum) did your baby outgrow the allergy? Were you able to switch to a regular formula at any point? When?

My son isn't on formula but has cmpa (I went dairy free). He's 15 months and on almond milk plus still nurses. However, you could always move on to a "Jr" formula (neocate) if your baby rejects other types of milk. When your little one is on solids, remember to read all labels until the allergy is outgrown. Around 9/10 months, offer a slice of bread or something that has milk as an ingredient to see if baby is affected by "baked in milk" before moving on to direct milk products like yogurt or cheese.
