Birthing Positions?

I've read giving birth on your back isn't the best. Anyone do anything different?

I had a completely natural birth with my son and moved the entire time!! Up, down, squat, standing, you name it I did it. I did end up actually giving birth with me on my back because I was exhausted and could have my mom and boyfriend counter pressure with my legs but I was ready and able to deliver in any position.

I really appreciated the freedom to move and give birth in whichever position felt the least painful.

Move move move in labor! Walk, sway, dance, squat, hands/knees, etc! Go to a labor/birth class and use your nurses. Squatting, forward leaning, and hands/knees are some great options for pushing.

I haven't had any children yet, but I have decided that I would prefer standing/squatting or in a birthing tub if available as opposed to the traditional lay on your back with your legs spread eagle lol. Good luck!
