Pregnant with asthma?

So I have asthma really bad to where I can’t breathe most the time especially when I go somewhere it gets worse I have inhalers and a breathing machine and was wondering if thier were any mother’s out thier that has asthma as bad as I do and is pregnant or was pregnant and could tell me how it was for them if being pregnant made it worse or the same or better Bc I would love to get pregnant but I wanna be able to breathe someone help!

Not an asthmatic, however I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Ideally you would want your asthma under control before getting pregnant. Obviously this not always possible to plan... From the way you are describing it, your asthma symptoms are significant. How often do you have flare-ups? How often are you on steriods for a flare-up? Have you ever been hospitalized for your asthma? It’s certainly possible to be pregnant and even a severe asthmatic, however maybe addressing it with a pulmonologist ahead of time would be smart.

I'm 22 weeks and have asthma. So far mine has gotten a little better. I still have my triggers but just use my rescue inhaler. I have not needed my nebulizer this entire pregnancy. My doctor says my rescue inhaler and nebulizer, both are albuterol, are okay and to absolutely use them if I need them. I wouldn't let my asthma stop me from getting pregnant if I were you. It may also help to talk to your doctor about a plan to help manage your asthma during pregnancy.
