Is it wrong for me to get a tattoo?

I've grown up in a Christian home my entire life. I am a Christian, I've been saved for years now, I attended a Christian elementary school, I play the piano at my church every Sunday, I assist with the Sunday school classes. However, I've wanted a tattoo for about 3 years now. I'm not sure if I should do it or not. The book of Leviticus has a verse which speaks about marking or piercing your body. I still don't know if it's fully wrong. After all, there isn't anything wrong with pierced ears so what's the harm in getting a tattoo? Would I be sinning by getting a tattoo? Are any of you Christians unsure of this? Or perhaps do you have a tattoo or did you get one after you were saved? Should I get one? Is it really a bad thing or is it okay?
