My SO definitely seems to treat our son better and pay him not attention every since I had him. Before that he was always taking my daughter to the park and shopping but that stopped 😞

My fiancé has guardianship of his ex wife's son, which is his step son. He also has custody of his biological son from their marriage. We are currently expecting my first, his second biological child. He spends time with the two older ones in equal amounts depending on their needs. They are 11 and 15 - with a new baby things should be interesting lol

I would love to know this also.  I have a 15 and 12 year old and my SO has been great with them. He has known them for over 10 years and is close with both, but mainly my oldest. We are currently 19 weeks today and would love to know how other dad's have been in this situation.

My hubby was married previously. He had 5, 2 of which weren't biologically his.  He payoffs support for all 5 because he said they are his children.  We married and I had 3 under 7. We gained custody of all 5 of his children (bio and not) 6 months later. We chose to have 5 more together. He loves each child the same. He spends as much time as he can with each and is quick to run to all of the children's aid. My 3 girls that he didn't father do not see him as a "step" dad (we don't use terms like step or half,  I hate them), He is their daddy in every in every sense of the word!

I'm in a similar boat. My husband has a son from before. I'm pregnant with my 1st.

When we get his son I'm less an actual part of the picture and more in the background. Sometimes I think I'm only brought along because I have a purse and I'll carry their stuff. My husband has honest to god forgotten me in a store one time while picking up his son.

I worry that will continue when my baby comes. If on weekends and vacation with stepson I'm on my own with the baby. I never cared before because his kid should come first. But now hell have another and I wont let my child grow up feeling like second place to its older half brother.
