How long did you wait after having baby #1 before sex?

Right now my LO is almost 5mo old. Husband and I still haven’t had sex. I had a 2nd degree tear that took a long time to heal, and I’m just too damn tired honestly. Zero sex drive. Baby is in our room at night. Plus I’m EBF, so I’m super dry down there. I told my husband that if he wants sex, he absolutely has to get us lube. He hasn’t done so 🤷‍♀️ I’ve given him oral, but no sex. I have major sex anxiety. But now I also have anxiety about NOT having sex!

With my eldest we waited 8 weeks. After the first time we waited another 4-5 weeks before it became a regular thing. We bought lube and used lube. Now after my youngest we waited 13 months (not by choice he deployed before I was given the go ahead lol). We plan to wait the 6-8 weeks this time as well!

We waited 6 weeks, but my sex drive was really high. I’m glad I’m not the only one who seems dry after birth, it’s been 15 months and I feel like my dryness is just starting to go away. We used astroglide before having a baby tho, and we still use it to this day.

I clicked other because we still haven't and my daughter is almost 6 months 😬 Co-sleeping,  low sex drive from me, and him coming to bed late all make for zero sex. I'm right there with you on the anxiety about not getting back into it yet.

7 weeks. That's when my post partum appointment was and I was cleared. Second degree tear internally and externally. We definitely used lube. It wasn't super painful, but it was definitely uncomfortable. Even 18 months later it still gets a bit uncomfortable in certain positions but its bearable and gets better after the initial insertion. So. Just take it slow and listen to your body.

2 weeks...it hurt obviously so we tried again at 4 weeks pp. Both times with a condom. We werent regular about it until after my checkup though.

We had to wait longer because I had a 2nd degree take and a tear on the left side that resulted in 5 stitches on the inside as well. It took longer for them to disolve and the Dr cut the stitches extra long so every time I moved they scratched which upped the heal time.
