I saved a life today!
I just have to share! I feel so good 😊 I’m a LVN and at work and when there are codes always more people then you need show up so I never really get much action. But today: I just need to share! My husband, 2 1/2 year old daughter and I were all dressed in our swim suits headed towards the pool, my husband carrying my daughter, when my husband notices my neighbor two doors down slumped over on her middle steps with her support dog sitting with her. She would not respond to verbal stimuli and sternal rubs, that’s when my instincts kicked in. I yelled for help as my husband ran to the house to get our phones, I was assessing her and she wasn’t responding still so my husband gets there and is standing there with my daughter because no one in our complex hears me yelling for back up. So I call 911 and they have me say the story/ my address and phone number three times and tell my husband to wait on the curb to wave them down and finally 15 minutes later they arrived. When they got there I was just standing there in my two piece swimsuit mortified by all the paramedics and just stand there and tell them everything over again. So embarrassed I was in a swim suit. But hey, I saved a life by being a first responder and knowing what to do in stressful situations and I encourage everyone on here to get CPR and first aid certified because you never know where you’ll be when someone is in danger. I just felt so good about myself and had to share. Thanks for reading and have a fabulous night!!!
