Big baby?

So my baby is 18 weeks and got weighed about a week and a half ago and was weighing 18lb3oz, he’s a big boy everyone I speak to always says ‘ oh he is big ‘ I’m scared hes too big? I know that sounds silly but my nephew who is 2 and a half is in size 6 nappies and my 4m baby is size 5!!

My son was 18lb 9oz at his 4 month appointment yesterday. Doctor said he’s perfectly healthy, she actually applauded me on breastfeeding him ☺️

My daughter was 18 lbs 2 ozs at 4 months. Totally healthy!

size 5 diapers are typically supposed to be 27 lbs+. I don’t know what brand you use, but in Huggins, even size 3 is labeled as 16-28 lbs. The diapers may seem like they fit but I think that’s a huge diaper for that weight

Has your baby always been slightly bigger than average? If so, he’s just meant to be that way. People come in all shapes and sizes. Your little guy sounds a bit smaller than my nearly-20lb 4.5month old, who is growing beautifully. It’s a bit annoying that the clothes that fit best right now are labeled anywhere from 9-18 months. But that’s just a label.

No. My guy was almost 17 at his 4m apt.

That doesn’t sound too big. Mine is 14lb 13oz but I’ve seen a few babies on this forum that are much closer to your baby’s weight. And if the doctor’s not worried, I wouldn’t be worried. My 3 year old wears size 5 diapers and is 30lbs, so I’d check your diaper fit.
