Let's be serious, it's not THAT much pain unless you have endometriosis. I've had bad cramps since I started having my period at the age of ten. You learn to deal. If your pain is debilitating, you should see a doctor.

No no no. If your pain is that bad for the whole week of your period or however long it is, then you don't need paid time off- you need a doctor and a diagnosis. I used to have to take the first day off Bc I had debilitating pain the whole first day and without health insurance I have never gotten a diagnosis...but I did finally find the ONLY pill that knocks the pain out for me. And it's Menstridol. I take two once I feel the cramps coming on and the pills set in and completely numb me to the pain the whole rest of the day. Changed my lifeeee. Please try it.

Unless one has a medical issue (PCOS, endometriosis) I see no reason for her to have paid time off during her cycle. I have my period for one-two weeks, with cramps so severe that I'm doubled over at times. I still work my seven hour shifts with a smile on my face because that's my job. Ibuprofen and willpower work wonders.

Periods aren't THAT bad unless you have some sort of disorder. Just take some pain meds and ride it through,  or call out sick if you really feel that bad.

I wish there was. I have PCOS and endometriosis, I've recently (past 2 years) been way more aggressive with my treatment. So I don't soak a maxi pad or tampon on 1.5 hours and have cramps so bad you could feel them through my belly anymore. But when I was going through that it made work or school impossible.

I wish I could have gotten a doctor's note and homework for the week so I could do it between cramps.

Only if you have serious painful diagnosed issues or like my aunt, pass out at the pain - then you could be considered a liability.
