Pap smear?

I’m at my Dr’s appt, 5 weeks PP and they wanted to do a Pap smear?? I thought you don’t get one until 12 weeks after.. anyone else had one done? I’m not interested in getting one today so I declined it so they want me to scheduke another appt later

Weird I had my 6 week pp check up today and said I don't need a pap smear until January 2021

I got one while I was pregnant and I don't need one for another 3 years since it was normal.

At my 6 week appt the Dr said to schedule the pap 3 months from then. I go the middle of Dec 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had my IUD placed at my 5 week PP checkup.

My last pap was in November last year right before I got pregnant. I think my OB actually did one at my first prenatal visit in January as well. But anyway, I didn’t get one yesterday at my 5 week PP visit.

I believe it has to do with when the end of the pregnancy coincides with the annual exam you had prior. For me my annual was due starting the same time as my checkup at 5 weeks so they did both at the same time to limit my visits. That said, I could have declined and come back any time during this year.

Yup had mine at 4 weeks. If you were due earlier they would have dine it at your first prenatal appt ( that’s what happened my first pregnancy) this time around I wasn’t due until summer so they did it at my pp visit. 
I use to work in OB it’s a pretty normal practice.
