Marriage. How long and when?

How long should you be in a relationship before you get married or even bring it up? And at what age? And when do you know or did you know that you wanted to marry your significant other?

I'm 19 and I've been with my boyfriend for a year. We want to wait until I graduate college just so we can say one of us isn't in school. We're only a year apart. The engagement part is just whenever he pops the question. So I guess marrying in early 20s would be ok.

I got engaged to my husband 3 months after meeting him. Married him 5 months later. We are going on 6 years! We both say that we knew instantly that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. 💑

My husband gave me a promise ring at 5 months of dating and proposed at 8 months. We were engaged for a year and got married at ages 18 and 19. I think it depends on each person and relationship. We have been married nearly 4 years now.

I'm 20 currently. If for some reason some confused man or woman decides to marry me, I'll wait until I'm done with my master's degree, which won't be until 2018. If they can last through the madness that is me going to graduate school and essentially living in my university's speech and hearing clinic while writing a thesis, chances are good they'll be able to handle anything else.

I started dating my best friend almost 4 years ago (almost 22 now). I knew three months in that I wanted to marry him, and I told him. He kinda freaked out for a little bit, but he loves me, and he said he realized that, too. However, we're not engaged, though he did give me a promise ring for our second anniversary. We don't plan on getting married any time soon, though. I don't want to be a stereotype by marrying young, and I prefer to wait until after we graduate college (we're a long distance couple), and until we can actually afford our dream wedding. So it'll still be a few more years.

My husband gave me a promise ring after dating for seven months and then proposed 8 months later and we planned our wedding in 2 1/2 months. I was 20 he was 21. Best decision I ever made.
