Cerclage: keep in or remove?

Rochelle • Baby #3. 💙 My preemie baby DOB 9/30/19❤️

So I’m at a crossroads..I had my cerclage places at 21 weeks and at 27weeks my water broke and I am currently in the hospital until I give birth which of no complications arise I will be delivered at 34weeks. The doctors go back and fourth but because I have no signs of infection or contractions they think it’s best to keep the cerclage in place as long we can because they fear if they take it out now because baby is transverse they think the cord will fall out of me and then they would have no choice but to deliver. I’ve been trying to educate myself on what can happen if an infection occurs vs delivering him early. If an infection occurs in the amniotic sac or his cord it can possibly lead to cerebral palsy or death and as much as I would love to keep him in there for as long as possible that really scares me of those things happening. I was reading also sometimes there’s not enough obvious signs that an infection is already present. I feel like this pregnancy has been so unpredictable that it’s possible I wouldn’t know there’s infection before it’s too late. So I guess my question is would you get the cerclage removed now before and thing happens and hope baby stays put for remainder of stay? Or keep the cerclage in place? I feel like even if he was born now (29weeks) he has still a greater chance of survival than if he were to get an infection which would make it harder. I’m just worried- this baby is my last one and I don’t want him dying or being harmed by an infection. Please don’t judge I just want to know what others would do in my situation.
