Is he sending confusing signals or am i just overthinking

Okay so i met this guy while i was taking an evening stroll, he reached up to me handing me his name card asking me to text him.

the next morning i texted him (thats when i first realized he was bad at texting, not so talkative during text etc even tho he replied really fast) and we met the next day for the first date. The date was great, even though he was very touchy he was honest and straightforward with me. He even brought up being exclusive with me, i told him honestly that him being so hasty seems insincere to me. He then started opening up telling me how serious and precautious he used to be when younger, but then ppl told him he was too boring and he seemed pretentious so he started being all goofy and proactive.

Anyway my point is, the date was great and i like him, but i don’t understand why he doesn’t text much. He texts every day, but it’s only like once a day and even tho we start texting it lasts less than a few exchanges because neither of us are eager enough to let the convo last. Which i think this makes him very contradictory because when we were physically tgt he was so much in love, wanting to call me his gf and being all touchy and kissy and the moment we are not tgt he is not texting a lot.

Side note: but i don’t think he just wants sex, because he let’s everyone know that we are a thing in out open in the public, he NEVER gets me drunk, like when i try to get a drink he always slows me down.

I know each has their own style of texting BUT at the same time i feel like he’s kinda giving off a confusing signal which is a typical trait of a player.

I may seem like I’m overthinking but I’m just being cautious because he’s really hot and he’s kind of rich so i feel like he would have gone thru many relationships. I know it’s bad to pre assume but....
