Let me start by explaining that I'm a child of divorce. I was 15 when my parents split and it was/still is (I'm 27 now fyi) a petty and ugly divorce. My dad didnt ask for custody of us, my mom had to request the spend time with us in the divorce agreement, he never had me over night (he did have my younger brother) and all they ever did was bad talk each other to us. And he often flaked on his planned days with us. Which is weird because before my parents split my dad was a very hands on dad.

Anyways I've been with this amazing guy for 7 years. We're engaged to be married next year and although I love him and trust him, I dont know what the future holds. I don't think we will ever get divorced, i mean i wouldn't marry a man if I didnt think we'd stay committed to each other for our lives. However I've been thinking of bringing up a prenup for future children. I dont want to go through what my parents did and I was thinking of having some form of agreement of how we will handle a split if children are in the picture. Is this crazy? It would just state things like quality time with children, no I'll speaking and communication rules. What do you think
