Do you have a male or female OB?

I just got the call from my family doctors nurse saying I'm 5-6 weeks and it's time to make a prenatal appointment. I also just found out my old OBGYN just retired. They said I can go to this new guy that they have been referring. Any experiance with guy OBs? Should I just try to find a girl?

Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. I chose a place with all females because that makes me more comfortable and my husband is going to come to most of my appointments and I want him to feel comfortable too.

My GYN is a male and my OB is a female. My gyn stopped being an OB years ago-said he quit his night job lol. Anyway, I'vehad good experiences with both. Go with what you are most comfortable with.

It’s 100% your preference. I’ve seen women swear by their male ob, but other women refuse to see a male. No right or wrong :)

My ob with my first baby was a male and while he was super nice and good at his job I just felt a little uncomfortable at my appointments. This time around I have switched to a female ob and I am very confident with my choice to switch.

I have had the same obgyn for the past 14 years. Male. I love him, I actually feel more comfortable with him than with females. Idk maybe I feel that he judges less lol.

The female I only saw for 2 appointments before I switched. She was awful.

I happen to go to a woman and the entire practice at my location is female. One weekend a month a doctor from the other location covers and they’re both male. I don’t think it matters as long as you are comfortable with the person.
