Viability Scan? Anyone ever heard of this or had it done?

So I got my bfp on Monday (Sept 30th) at 14 dpo. I got my progesterone and hcg tested yesterday and both are within normal range and I get my hcg tested again on Friday to make sure it doubles. When I called for my results the nurse said she can have me schedule a “viability scan” which is basically just an early ultrasound to see how many embryos are growing and if the embryo is developing normally in the uterus. This is scheduled for October 15th, which is pretty early considering I’ll only be 6w1d by then. But she said it’s a routine early scan that my obgyn office does. Hubby and I excited to get to see baby so early (even though I know we won’t really see anything)! Has anyone ever heard of this or had it done?

I had three ultrasounds by week six simply due to age! And six blood tests. 44.5 pregnant naturally but I had been seeing a fertility clinic and they love to monitor! They like to see the HCG doubling over 48 hour intervals week 4 and to scan to make sure first that the pregnancy is not ectopic then to check for the gestational sac, then fetal pole and yolk sac.

Yes, I had one at 7 weeks 2 days. They wanted to make sure embryo attached in the right place, check cervix and heartbeat.

You’ll be able to see embryo, yolk sac, gestational sac and heart beat. I had my ultrasound and 6w1d and found out I was having twins

I didn’t my last pregnancy, but using a different practice this time as we’ve moved and I had to go for a blood today and again on Friday then they wanted me at 6 weeks but we’re on vacation so I’m going at 7w4d...seemed so strange to me!

I had one at 6w2d because hcg was on the higher end. One baby, could see heartbeat, 109 bpm. Baby measured 6w1d

I had a viability scan at 6 weeks and 3 days to confirm the pregnancy. We were able to see the embryo, the yolk sac, and the gestational sac, as well as both see and hear the heartbeat. The sonographer did say she didn’t expect to hear the heartbeat that early though.
