Early contractions

I’m 30 weeks (almost 31) im high risk (i have type one diabetes) and this morning i woke up with really strong contractions 4-6 minutes apart. I called my ob and went to get checked out. The contractions calmed down a lot, I’m still having them but mostly they are just slightly uncomfortable instead of intense. My cervix is still closed and hard so they sent me home and told me to relax and keep an eye on it. Well I’ve heard from a few friends telling me I’ll probably have baby early since my body is already practicing labor. I really hope not but I’m nervous. This is my second pregnancy and i went full term with my first. Has anyone else had this experience and did you still go full term?
