Would you split if your so is not patient enough with your 2y old?

I’ve seriously considered this lately, I know he loves him but he has no patience with him, I always have to intervene when my son is having a meltdown and he is in “charge” I have to quit anything I’m doing at the moment cause I don’t want him screaming at him or being mean and saying “what do you want?” Like if he could tell... 
I’m so heartbroken by this 💔

Yeah I would rather be single than have my kids mental health be put in jeopardy by someone who doesn’t understand a 2 year old is just trying to figure shit out.

Splitting up with your SO isn’t going to change his parenting style. You need to just talk to him about it and ask him to find a better way to parent.

Maybe he just needs a little help like a class or maybe visit a dr. Some dads aren’t as patient with small kids but are great with older kids. Like work it out and do whatever you have to to fix it cause just leaving him isnt gonna change anything except that you won’t be around to intervene...

I mean there were obviously other reasons to my split but that was the deciding factor for me. My ex husband was so impatient with our two year old and would slap him across the face for the tiniest things and I couldn’t take it anymore. I would address it with him first and see if he can be more patient with him, see if he’s open to taking classes or reading books on it.
