Water breaking!

For those who have experienced their water breaking/leaking naturally, did you have any symptoms prior? Like did you have crazy strong contractions first, or after? Did you hear a pop? Did it happen when baby kicked particularly hard? Or when you felt lots of pressure? I have never experienced my water breaking on its own (doctor always breaks it) so I wanna know what to expect, if anything.
