Teachers, when did you tell admin you would be taking FMLA for the birth?

I am conflicted between excitement to tell everyone and just being a generally private person. I am also concerned since every time I have taken leave, the subs have been nightmares with horror stories of them cussing at the kids or not letting them finish lunch. I guess that's a different problem though.

I made sure to tell admin before I told my co-workers because I didn’t want it to get back to him through the grapevine. I think it was just before I was 12 weeks? I also super trust my admin and work in a very supportive staff.
I didn’t tell the HR department at the district until I was in my 3rd trimester because they don’t do anything before that point anyway.
