Did your partner go with you to your first OBGYN appointment?

My bf and I will go to all the appointments together and will reschedule the appointment if necessary (we both work full time but I’m far more flexible). May sound as a bit much maybe, but we both want him to be there. Also, I had a missed miscarriage in April (thankfully he was with me when we found out) and extra scared this time around so really need him with me to be honest.

My fiancé worked a lot and long hours plus he was only 2 months into the job so he couldn’t be there for most appointments. He was there for the 15 week scan (I had ultrasound every 3-4 weeks due to cyst on my ovaries) so he got to see our son moving and bouncing around, he said he was glad to see that ultrasound rather than the first one where he wouldn’t have been able to see the baby moving all around and actually start looking like a baby.

Yes and he’s been to every appointment since then. He likes to hear the heartbeat and see the ultrasounds and hear the information from the doctor because I’m high risk and they give sooo much information at the appointments and talk so fast it can be hard to relay all that back to him just as the doctor did.

My husband went to every appointment with me. He works at the hospital I use so it was very easy for him to make it.

Mine didn’t only because he’s in the military and works practically all day, everyday so he will probably never be able to come to my appointments. He really wants to come along but it’s just those crazy hours that’s holding him back..

My husband has been to every single appointment, but we have been through a lot of medical stuff together in our 18 years of marriage and this is kind of just what we do. We are blessed that he works nightshift and also has a rotating schedule, so it is a little easier for us to schedule appointments around his work than it is for others. We use doctor's appointments as "date days" by going out to lunch or shopping or something after.

It depends my first one I just sat in the office and talked to a nurse, my 2nd one was when I got a ultrasound sound and listened to the baby’s heartbeat, my husband didn’t come to the first one but he came to the 2nd one and the rest (if he’s not to busy at work)

Because this is my first pregnancy and I had no idea what to expect my SO came to my first one just for me to get a pap smear 😂 so I told him from now on he only had to come to important ones that gave ultrasounds and that’s what we did for a while until end of 2nd trimester when I was categorized as high risk, now he tries to come to all. If he can’t his mom or my mom try to come so I’m not alone:)
My poor man has seen me get a pap smear, a couple pelvic exams and has sat there patiently so many times because of all the appointments he has gone too. I feel so bad 😂
Next baby will be different.

With my first yes he came to every single one. With my second no, he couldn’t take time off.
