Is your baby on Zantac for reflux?

My 5 week old has been showing signs of reflux. I mentioned it today at her one month check up. The doctor recommended Zantac to help. Anyone else have a reflux baby on Zantac? Has it helped?

My first was on it very early, around 3 weeks old for terrible reflux, we tried everything else first. It did help, but didnt completely fix it, it cut down on symptoms by about 50%. The main thing is the dosage is by weight, which changes so fast at this age, I found I had to call and have the dosage changed every month or so. When used with gripe water and post-feeding elevation we managed pretty well til she was 3 months old and it started improving on its own.

My daughter was on it around 18 months old.  If you haven’t tried anything to fix it without going with meds, I’d try to figure out the source rather than cover it up.  My son was having terrible reflux starting already in the nicu.  It was the dairy based fortifier.  As soon as he went off that (this past Monday) it cleared up.

My daughter is on it. She was 4 weeks old when she was put it. She's almost 2 months old. I think it helps her. But burping every ounce has helped a lot more. She was throwing up ounces and gagging so bad. Now she spits some. Our pediatrician said she was eventually grow out of the acid reflux.
