Did you/are you planning on getting whopping cough & flu vaccine during pregnancy?

Hi guys,

I’m born and raised in Sweden but currently live in Ireland. My doc and midwife here in Dublin have suggested that I get both the flu and whopping cough vaccine during the pregnancy to protect my baby. I’m currently 24+5 weeks.

When speaking to friends and family in Sweden, half advise they did not get the vaccines during their pregnancy, some say they got the flu vaccine and a very small number said they got both.

I’m skeptical because I’ve only gotten the flu shot once, and it made me really sick. I’ve also been advised that the flu vaccine only covers 1 out of 30 strains.

I got the whopping cough vaccine when o was little in Sweden, but not sure if a top up is needed for the sake of the baby.

I’d like to hear what you mothers and expecting mothers did/are planning on doing. Please also include the country you live in.
