Do u give medicine to ur babies? For flu and cough?

My daughter having a flu and cough . She got infection. Not sure if i should give her only antibiotic or flu and cough medicine also coz i know that its not good to give them medicine under 2yo. The doctor give the medicine of course.

I give Tylenol or Motrin for pain/fever and Zarbee’s Infant Cough & Mucus if needed. As soon as anyone in our house starts to feel sick my 16 month old starts on Zarbee’s Infant Immune Support and every time the worst she gets is a runny nose; I think she’s had one cold so far in her lifetime.

Due to my oldest daughter (2 years old)getting so sick sometimes her doctor said to use mucux children but to half the dosage since it’s made for 6 + years old, my youngest I’ve been lucky with her never been sick yet but she also has never been to daycare cause we switched to a nanny

I'd ask the doctor to be sure just incase you cant mix certain otc meds with the antibiotics

We give pain relief to our son. When he’s been unwell, he usually handles it pretty good but when he’s unwell and teething or has an ear infection, he doesn’t handle it well. He had antibiotics for an ear infection a month ago and the doctor said he was all clear and fine. Turns out, it hadn’t cleared up and came back with a vengeance while he was teething as well and he ended up having a febrile convulsion cause we didn’t realise he was sick. He was in hospital for almost 2 days. It was terrible. He ended up getting back on the antibiotics and he’s finally back to his normal self now even though he’s still teething. Sometimes medicines can be the best thing for our little ones

I would give the antibiotic and Motrin/Tylenol. Like you said, under 2 they can't have cough medicine, but pain relievers and fever reducers like Tylenol and Motrin are safe.
