When do babies stop sleeping all day?

My 7 week old sleeps all night and day with the exception of eating

My 8 week old is on and off. One day he is up most of the day and at night time sleeping 2-4 hours long between feedings. The next day he sleeps more during the day then sleeps 2-3 hours at night and wants to have conversation during every feed.

I think they gradually start to wake up more. My 8 week old is much the same most of the time so long as she gets a good burp and what not. She’s been awake for a two and a half hour stretch that was the longest and she completely knocked after for a long time lol. But first it will be you’ll notice they’re MORE awake when awake. So more alert. Then stay up more. But babies grow so much. It works their little bodies really hard so I’m not surprised they sleep all day.
