Should ambulance assistance be considered public service like Police assistance or Fire Assistance and not billed to the individual, but contracted by the county?
The only time I have ever been in an ambulance was being transported from one side of the hospital to the other, never leaving the parking lot.. I was billed $1,012 for it.
Should this service be treated like fire and rescue and police or should these contracted companies bill individuals?
Obviously we are talking in the United States... in my husbands country (Chile) they are free/ paid by city..
