Did you get help from your mom or MIL to watch your baby 1-2 days a week when you went back to work? Did you PAY them???

My husbands mom is watching our 3 month old/ her three month old grand baby (only grandkid in the family) 1.5 days a week since I am back at work 2.5 days a week now. Have you been in a similar situation and did you pay them? If you did was it hourly? A flat fee, etc... ???

My mom used to watch both my nephews when they were babies- one for over a year, one for a little less than a year, both 5 days a week and never got paid because she didn’t want to be paid. Idk if that helps you at all, but that’s how the situation was for them.

The plan is that my MIL will watch baby (her 5th grandchild) 2 half days a week. Possibly more. We do not plan to pay her nor does she expect to be paid.

My husbands mom watches our three month old son 4 days a week 12-5, and she would never take money for it. She loves it!

So I used to pay my grandparents because they needed the money, I paid them 100 a week. Which isn’t a boat load or anything but still lol I needed them.  But I never paid my in-laws on mom to watch my kids. Just provided food.
