I want to know your stance on people under the influence holding or being around your children. My boyfriend and I both had very different experiences with growing up around alcohol. I was very traumatized with alcoholic parents and don’t want people handing my children while they are drinking. I don’t want alcohol to be normalized as a day to day thing. I want better for my children than what I had. My boyfriend grew up where everyone in his family drank. It’s normal for them, it’s drinking every other night and saying he doesn’t need it, but yet won’t stop while he’s on probation for a dui. He doesn’t get blitzed out of his mind drunk, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a potential problem in the future. I have zero problems with it if it’s the weekend, special occasions, or a night out. But every other day at home is a bit much for me personally when it comes to our future with the possibility of children involved. Is my past making me overreact?
