*long post ahead*

So my baby boy turned a week old yesterday, he was born on 9/30/19 at 8:59am weighing 8lbs and 2oz and he was 20in long.

So I was in early labor with him for a week before my water broke. I had been to labor and delivery twice. The first time we went on saturday my contractions were 5 minutes apart but i was only 2 centimeters dialated So they sent me home and told me to come back if my water broke or the contractions got worse. Well they stayed the same for a day and a half then they picked up so we went back on Monday and the contractions were 3 minutes apart but I hadn't dialated anymore. And I wasnt quite 39 weeks so they wouldnt do anything to help me dialate.

Wednesday i had a dr appt and he told me again that even though I was in early labor they couldnt do anything to help because I was not 39 weeks yet (At this point I was 37+3)

Fast forward to the next sunday. My water broke while we were at church. And at first I didn't think much of it because not a lot of fluid came out it was just a small gush. I did mention it to my husband though and said that it was kind of weird and we wouldnt wait just a little bit to see if anything else happend. So we drive home and i stand up out of the car and there was a huge gush so I told my husband that I was pretty sure that my water had broken so we went to the hospital and it was my water and I was at a 3.

So they get me in a room and start going over what medications I'm on and things like that, my dr had my on a daily aspirin regimen throughout my pregnancy because I have a history of miscarriage and the aspirin is supposed to help thicken your uterine lining. Anyway Apparently aspirin and epidurals dont mix so I was not allowed to have one and my doctor never told me this (I was fully planning on getting one)

So i was in active labor for 16 hours with only IV pain medication and all that did was make me sleepy, I still felt everything and let me tell you I would not wish that pain on my worst enemy.

I pushed for about an hour and a half and had to be cut, and I tore also so I had to have quite a few stitches.

My baby boy is so worth all that pain and I would do it all over for him again if i had to.

Right after he was born

And now a week later
